The Cleats

The old cleats never held up after the quick repair last year so I replaced them with heavy bronze cleats. The old ones had to be hacksawed off, and the new ones mounted on a pad because of the irregular surface of the boat .The entire installation was backed up with a steel plate.

Hi Uwe, What I tried to post before is that I think these cleats are fantastic! So many of my customers are afraid that something like this is out of scale or something. Normally I use the gigantic Perko 0530xxxxALU. Even tho they are designed for csk heads, I usually turn down carriage bolts which aren't as hard to tighten as it would seem.(Another common obstacle that I encounter is that nobody wants to see new holes drilled in their boat; even tho the builder drilled hundreds. Glad U aren't letting THAT stop U! Anyway, my comment was simply:"Sometimes it's not easy being prudent,is it?".

Thankyou
Old holes are designed to be plugged up yes its surprising how just some simple nice looking cleats can really make the hole boat look different
